A musical project for children in Laos

With ‘Legends for Children 2’, we are continuing our successful fundraising campaign to give children in Laos a better future. Dr. Markus Ringer and Callum Au
Big Band of the German Armed Forces

The idea behind Legends for Children 2

Dr Markus Ringer, initiator of the project, was convinced from the outset that ‘Legends for Children’ should live on – bigger and more powerful. After 2.5 years of preparation, the campaign has now been continued, supported by an impressive team of musicians and artists who contribute to helping children in need through their work.

A strong team of musical legends

For the new edition, Dr Markus Ringer worked together with the renowned big band arranger Callum Au, who has already played with stars such as Michael Bublé and Jamie Cullum. Together they created an arrangement that preserves the emotional power of the original ballad but allows it to shine in a new, captivating sound.

The soloist is trumpet virtuoso Louis Dowdeswell, whose impressive skills lend the piece a special depth. Dowdeswell has already worked with international stars and impresses with his technique and expressiveness.

The Big Band of the Bundeswehr

Another highlight is the collaboration with the Big Band of the German Armed Forces, which has been travelling as Germany’s musical ambassador for years. Under the direction of Timor Oliver Chadik, the Big Band lends the project the perfect sound and supports the fundraising campaign with full commitment.

Behind the scenes: The production

The project was recorded at the renowned Hansahaus Studios in Bonn, while the mastering was carried out by Alexander Hartmann.

The video shoot and editing were carried out by students at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule under the direction of Dr Markus Ringer.
