We were delighted to welcome a delegation from the Lao Ministry responsible for Technical and Vocational Education and the Lao-German Technical College (LGTC) to Germany.
The purpose of their visit was to gain first-hand insights into Germany’s dual vocational education and training system and to further develop technical vocational education in Laos.
During their stay, the delegation met with Christian and Lars Engel, visited a German vocational school, explored the latest innovations at a leading industrial trade fair, gained practical insights into apprenticeship training at the ÜBZO Training Center, and concluded their visit with a warm meeting with Madame Gerlinde Engel.

Since 2016, the AfC Foundation, BHS Corrugated and ÜBZO – Überbetriebliches Bildungszentrum in Ostbayern have been cooperating with LGTC in the field of vocational education and training – with great success! 💪🔧

Around 200 graduating students from Phang Heng Secondary School in Laos took part in a mechanical & electrical vocational orientation program with Sonja and Horst from Germany.
Interested students now have the chance to start a technical vocational training at the Lao-German Technical College. 🔧⚙️
To support this pathway, BHS awards scholarships for German language courses — giving dedicated and talented students the opportunity to continue their training in Germany ✈️, and build a long-term future living and working there 🌍✨.
