Four teachers from the Lao-German Technical College completed a 3.5-week advanced training program in mechatronics at BHS Corrugated and ÜBZO in Germany.
The program focused on strengthening technical teaching skills in the fields of metal and electrical engineering with the aim to enhance vocational education in Laos.

Last week, our AfC Foundation Board Member Prof. Dr. Erich Bauer and his wife Dr. Alexandra Bauer visited Laos.
They spent time at the AfC partner schools and the Lao-German Technical College (LGTC), engaging directly with teachers and students. The focus of their visit: exploring how digital tools can enhance and expand German language education in the classroom.

🎉 A special day for a special person! 🎂
Yesterday, our AfC board member Prof. Dr. Erich Bauer was honored on the occasion of his retirement and his 66th birthday! 🥳 The Lao apprentices at BHS in Germany surprised him with a cultural program featuring traditional dance, music, and an art exhibition of their own paintings. Prof. Bauer and the apprentices even created a painting of Laos together! 🎨

Two Lao trainees at BHS Corrugated in Germany shared their inspiring journey — from studying at the Lao-German Technical College in Laos to starting their dual vocational training in the mechanical and electrical fields in Germany. 🔧⚡

Congratulations from Laos
Today, around 60 curious and motivated students from the final classes at Phang Heng Secondary School visited the Lao-German Technical College (LGTC) to learn firsthand about the training opportunities in the metal and electrical sectors.
Every year, BHS Corrugated awards around 40 scholarships to support young talents in this field. These scholarships not only cover the training at LGTC but also include a German language course and the unique opportunity to continue their vocational training at BHS in Germany.

Art Unites Across Cultures 🎨🌏
Artist and BHS Integration Coach Susanne Kempf has brought creativity and inclusion together in a unique art project with 19 Lao trainees at BHS. Last year, they created impressive artworks that were presented to the public yesterday.
With the support of BHS, Sozialteam, and ARIBO, the exhibition opened at the inclusion hotel in Erbendorf, showcasing how art speaks a universal language—connecting people beyond cultures and borders.❤️
